For our littlest learners, we offer a Karate themed movement class with their adults which uses blocks, stances, and basic kicks to open the door to spatial awareness, balance, improved motor skills, and early memorization. In this environment they will be introduced to the structure and expectations of a martial arts class using age-appropriate methods of play and conversation to reach them where they are as they begin their journey with Karate. Our book, Tiger’s Way Home will introduce them to their first kata as they act out Tiger’s journey in class and at home!
Students aged 4 – 7 will learn what it means to practice Karate in a class designed to engage and inspire. Classes are structured with the basics to give them a firm foundation, games which are designed to reinforce the motor skills and spatial awareness necessary to safe and effective Karate, and new movements to practice and grow. They will learn how to meet goals, to respect themselves and others, and to lead others by having the children lead the warmups with teacher support.
Paws classes are designed to help our students reach beyond their comfort zone with new skills and a better understanding of themselves. Alongside kata and sparring, they’ll learn important life skills like how to set and meet goals for themselves, to lead others in class through teaching their peers, to resolve conflicts and solve problems, to work as a team, and to extend their spatial awareness to situational awareness for safety both inside and outside the studio.
