• Frequently Asked Questions •

Is Tai Chi good for seniors with balance problems?

Yes. Tai chi is one of the most recommended activities for older adults working on balance. Its slow, controlled movements build stability, strengthen the legs and core, and improve body awareness — all of which support better balance and may help reduce the risk of falls. Our classes welcome adults 55+ of every ability level, and you can move at your own pace.

What are the best classes for seniors just getting active again?

Great starting points are Tai Chi, our gentle Yoga, and BFA: Balance, Fitness & Agility — all low-impact and beginner-friendly. Sculpt and Stretch and Barre & Core Pilates are also approachable ways to rebuild strength and mobility gradually. No experience is required for any of them.

Do I need prior experience or a certain fitness level?

Not at all. Every senior-friendly class is open to all levels, and our instructors offer modifications so you can participate comfortably. If you are returning to movement after time away or managing a particular condition, just let your instructor know and they will help you adapt.

Are the classes really low-impact?

Yes. The classes featured on this page — including Tai Chi, gentle Yoga, Yin Yoga, Sculpt and Stretch, and Barre & Core Pilates — are intentionally low-impact, focusing on balance, flexibility, gentle strength, and relaxation rather than high-intensity exercise.
